Routes and resting

Although we have the GPS trail there is always a place for the old school maps. (and compass it seems)

If we rest every 4th or 5th day we will spend around 30 days on the trail so we need 4 or 5 good stopovers where we can wash out T-shirts, drink a beer and just let ourselves relax for 24 hours. Ali continues to refine the maps and build up the route book.

We spent sometime on the map at a campsite in Spain last year when we were eating black pudding on toast at the bar. It has since become known as the black pudding map. The highlighter pen and marks on the map are the route, potential rest sections and comments to help us plan our rest days.

Some of the places we could stay for about £60 are quite nice, others are more basic and cost less than £20. At this stage everything is in the pot to be considered. I can always sleep in the roof tent rather than a room but having access to food, water, top up electricity and washing facilities is worth paying for.
